Why was it so damn bright? Tao found himself squinting as the private jet touched down on the tarmac of the Tucson International Airport. His head felt heavy, like he was still drunk, as he patted himself down for his sunglasses. Putting them on, he got out of his seat and was assisted to the waiting car that would take him to the Psychiatric Hospital that would help him with his addictions and straighten out his head. Tao thought it was a load of shit, that he didn’t need this and that he was being sent to the wrong kind of hospital. Didn’t they send guys like him to rehab on the coast? Where you’d get guys like Dr Drew or something? Why the hell was it Arizona? California would make so much more sense… unless they were trying to lock him away, hide him and make it like he didn’t exist.

Snorting, he settled into the back seat, there was a man sitting next to him. Funny, he wasn’t a bodyguard, but he didn’t look like one of his father’s people either. Tao pulled his suit jacket closer around himself and settled in for the ride. It didn’t take them long to reach their destination, a state of the art institution that was on a hill in the middle of no where. This didn’t bode well. He rolled down the window as they pulled into the drive, drawing his sunglasses down his nose to get a better look at his new home. He hoped to God that it was only temporary. Something about it, didn’t sit well with the young man. He didn’t want to get out, the man who was next to him in the car, forced him out.

Straightening his jacket and tie, after he’d been all but pushed out of the car, Tao got another look at the hospital. It seemed to loom before him and then felt like he was swallowed by it after he was ushered inside and taken to the patient check-in. It was strange, all his paperwork was already done, things were signed, he saw his father’s signature and wondered when it had been done. Was he really being sent away? Did he shame his family that much? He felt panic rise in his chest, adrenaline flooded his system, his heart pounded against his rib cage as he started to look, desperately for a way out. There was no way he was going to let his parents do this to him. Tao turned to walk out, but felt a large hand grab his shoulder, stopping him.

They’d been warned about this. They knew what Tao was capable of.

The young man reached, snatching the hand off his shoulder, putting it in a lock and sending the large man into a couple of orderlies. Tao ran for the door, leaping over obstacles and people in a last desperate bid for freedom. He didn’t get far, being tackled by a few of the larger orderlies. He screamed, struggled and tried to fight them off but they had too good of a hold. A nurse came from somewhere he couldn’t see with a syringe, which was plunged into Tao’s thigh as he struggled. Soon his movements subsided as the chemicals worked their way into his system, robbing him of his conscious and ultimately his freedom.
